How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Ember account directly from within the app. Follow these steps:
Open Ember
Launch the Ember app on your device and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
Go to Profile
Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar to open your profile page.
Open Settings
Tap the Settings icon (gear icon) in the top-right corner of your profile page.
Delete Account
Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account". Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed within 30 days:
- Profile information — name, email, age, gender, bio, interests, photos
- Activity data — events created/joined, channel memberships, gamer profiles
- Messages — direct messages and group chat messages
- Posts & comments — all content you've posted in channels
- Connections — friend connections and follow relationships
- Notification history — all push notification records
- Location data — city, hub, and GPS coordinates
Note: Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as event attendance counts) may be retained for analytics purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you.
What Is Not Deleted
- Messages received by others: Messages you sent that have already been delivered to other users will remain in their message history, but your name will be replaced with "Deleted User".
- Legal obligations: We may retain certain data if required by law, regulation, or to resolve disputes.
Can't Access Your Account?
If you are unable to sign in to your account to delete it, you can request manual account deletion by contacting our support team:
Request Manual Deletion
Email us from the email address associated with your account. Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.
[email protected]Important: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All your data, connections, events, and messages will be lost. Please make sure you want to proceed before confirming deletion.
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are processed as follows:
- In-app deletion: Account is deactivated immediately. Data is permanently removed within 30 days.
- Manual deletion (via email): We will verify your identity and process the request within 7 business days. Data removal completes within 30 days of verification.
